This project in the Cotswolds was for an extension to a 16th century cottage. The owners wanted to create a new kitchen/diner and lounge area that was spacious, light and easy to inhabit, as well as having a smooth transition into the outdoor space.
Dwela was able to assist in the design process through a series of drawings and visuals that informed key design decisions.
The design is clad in typical Cotswold stone, combined with Siberian Larch cladding to give it a warmer feel. The modern Crittall doors and skylight bring in an abundance of natural light, and allow free-flowing access onto the lawn. The zinc-clad roof creates a strong horizontal plane offering a shaded cantilever, whilst giving a sleek form to the extension.
This project began in Autumn last year and is now nearing completion.
